Finances
A Message from the Finance Team …
This month’s finance report makes very healthy reading, but only because we have received a very substantial legacy. Having been less than two years from potentially running out of money, we are very aware that we cannot allow this sum to just dwindle away. Some of the money will be used to repaint the windows, rainwater goods and clock face, all jobs that are becoming urgent. The plan is to invest most of the rest. It is still important to keep a careful eye on our cashflow. Through a combination of some increased giving, social events, fundraising and cutting back, we have managed to reduce last year’s average monthly overspend by about £300, but it is still just over £800. It is important to get this figure down if we are to achieve financial stability. The Kirk Session will continue to reduce expenditure where possible, but there are three possible ways you can also help:
· If you have not already done so, consider increasing your regular giving.
· If you are a tax payer, and have not already completed a Gift Aid form, please do so. Gift Aid forms are available from the office and allow the Church to reclaim the tax paid when the donor earned the money donated.
· Support social and fundraising events in any way you can.
Thank you for taking time to read this message. We ask only that you reflect on it prayerfully and take whatever action you can.
