Lord Jesus, 

Prince of Peace, You said ‘blessèd are the peacemakers’, so teach us how we can promote peace whenever, and wherever, we come across its absence. We do not ask for special powers, just the wisdom, skill and inclination to soothe heated situations before they become conflict, no matter how small. Yet, we recognise that we can only promote outward peace, when we have inward calm. So we ask You to give us that calm, lead us by still waters, teach us to be more as You would have us be. Fit us more completely to be Your instruments of peace in the world around us.
