Loving God,

As our Lenten wait comes to an end, we thank You for the joy of the resurrection on that first Easter morning. We are reminded of how Your power is best demonstrated through weakness, and marvel at how You used the ultimate powerlessness of dying to conquer death itself.

This knowledge not only comforts us in times when we feel weak or helpless, but also gives us hope for the future in a world where the strong prey on the weak, the rich profit from the sweat of the poor and the chasm between the haves and the have-nots grows ever wider. We know that these injustices are not Your way, for You side with the weak, the poor and the have-nots. Help us, we pray, to do all we can to bring honour to You by making Your priorities ours.

Enable us, like You to side with the weak, the poor and the have-nots, through our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
