It is hard to believe that we have just had our final Sunday Club of the year but it did feel good knowing that the first Sunday in Advent welcomed the Church’s new year.
During the service, Carl explained the meaning of some Christmas traditions such as the giving of gifts and the significance of lights decorating trees at this time of year. The birth of Jesus bringing light to the world was explored further in our time together at Sunday Club.
We discussed the four candles leading up to the fifth Christ candle before creating a small paper plaque which celebrated Jesus being the light of the world.
The boys were so focussed on the short film and the craft so they earned a wee game of snowball bowling. Not surprisingly, this was very popular.
May I wish our boys, their families and our Church family a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
Looking forward to our next Sunday Club in February although I think I will see you before then.
With love and service,
